My Story
I've always had a big personality. Some people say I'm smart and witty, and I certainly love people! When I was 10 years old, at the start of my 5th grade year, I was diagnosed with very high risk, acute lymphoblastic leukemia. I went into remission after my first round of chemotherapy and completed 10 months of super intense treatment before moving to over 2 1/2 years of monthly maintenance treatment and nightly medicine. The treatments were hard on my body and limited my ability to go to school and participate in my usual activities. This led me to miss 163 days of 5th grade alone!
Despite this set back, I claim I will live just like my blood type and “B positive”. I value determination, optimism, and deep belief in the bigger plan for my life.
I rang the bell signifying finishing treatment in January of 2022. I am now 15 years old, a sophomore at William and Reed Academy, and a proud employee of Horseshoe Bend Country Club.
